Tokyo Auto Salon Tour 2010
THERE’S NO BETTER WAY TO SEE JAPAN THAN ON THE DSPORT MAGAZINE
Tokyo Auto Salon Tour. While the 2009 DSPORT TAS tour received awesome feedback
from the participants, we wanted to make this year’s tour even better. For 2010, we
added a Kirin Beer factory tour, an UpGarage visit and a stop at Daikoku futo parking
lot. VIP extended tour participants were also treated to a TOMEI POWERED factory
tour along with a stop at Nissan Global Headquarters and Mitsubishi showroom. Of
course, the ever-popular all-you-can-drink Izakaya experience and the Nitto NT05 Drift
Day presented by RAZO provided some of the most exciting and memorable times.
DAIKOKU FUTO
The Daikoku Futo lot is a public parking
area that happens to be a popular
meeting spot for motorsport enthusiasts
of all types. On this night, we were
treated to a row of R33 and R34 Skylines,
a group of Integra Type-R’s, a handful of
minivans with bumping sound systems and
a group of old school motorcyclists.
MITSUBISHI SHOWROOM
Perfect for our first stop of the day
since there was a Starbucks right
inside the showroom.
KIRIN BREWERY
Can you pour a perfect glass of beer? We learned how on
the tour of the Kirin Brewery. There is nothing better
than free beer straight from the source!
NISSAN GLOBAL HQ
If you ever wanted to find a piece of Nismo
merchandise, this is the place to go. They also have
every current model Nissan on display along with
some future concept vehicles.
UP GARAGE
This was our favorite place to shop
for used parts. Due to popular
request, we skipped the Toyota
History Museum this year to hit two
different UP GARAGE stores located
in Tokyo. Martin (pictured below)
managed to purchase a pair of
Recaro race seats for $400 and
brought them back safe and sound.
TOMEI POWERED TOUR
TOMEI POWERED debuted its new EXPREME Ti titanium
exhausts as well as its trademark engine products. We
also got a sneak peak inside the dyno rooms and
camshaft production areas.
